Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Psalm 100
Music is a powerful expression of Worship, and our goal is to lead the church to worship through music and to provide the congregation with a meaningful experience. We seek to glorify God through both contemporary and traditional music, foster personal growth in faith with opportunities to serve in worship, and provide opportunities for all.
Our Music Ministry is an exciting place to learn, lead, and experience worship through music and liturgy. Our service includes congregational hymns with the choir and a state-of-the-art pipe organ, as well as modern music and a live Praise band. These worship opportunities allow our ministry to offer a wide variety of opportunities for orators, vocalists, and instrumentalists. We are a teaching ministry, so anyone with a desire to be involved will be utilized in worship.
We are excited to offer special musical opportunities to children and youth each year. Each group performs on special occasions, and each year we also have the student ministry completely lead worship. These times provide a magical experience for our congregation and our music ministry. It is a blessing to teach, lead, and experience worship through another generation of Christians.
We welcome people who have a love for Christ, and whether you prefer to express yourself musically, through liturgical dance, or by offering your personal testimony, please do not hesitate to contact us to participate in special worship opportunities.
Chancel Choir
During choir practice, we emphasize musical and spiritual preparation each week. As a member of the First Presbyterian Adult Choir, you will be invited to serve on Sunday mornings, participate and assist with seasonal musicals for special occasions (for example: Easter and Christmas), and participate in additional teaching opportunities for youth through seniors.
Contemporary Praise Team
During our contemporary Praise practice, we emphasize learning music that is Christ centered and will fully engage our members during worship. As a member of the First Presbyterian Contemporary Music Team, you will be invited to serve on Sunday mornings, participate and assist with seasonal musicals for special occasions (for example: Easter and Christmas), help prepare, write and perform original music, along with participation in music teaching opportunities.
Special Music Summer Opportunities
In summer months when the regular program year has ended, we welcome all who would like to perform for the congregation in both services. Each week we try to showcase a new performer, offering their special gifts to honor our Lord.
